 A device such as the Measupro recommended by both The American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association since pulse oximetry can identify some infants with critical congenital heart defect before they show signs of the condition.  Once identified, babies with CCHD can be seen by cardiologists and can receive treatment that can prevent death or disability.

The MeasuPro requires two AAA batteries that are stored in an easy access battery compartment. I like the automatic shut off after five seconds of inactivity, helping prolong the battery life.  And unlike other oximeters, this one includes both the required batteries and a carry case with a lanyard.

This device can serve as a great tool for athletes after a rigorous workout, those with certain lung disorders, and can be useful in some diabetic cases.  Getting a reading is super simple, just place your fingertip inside the device and wait a few seconds.  To test the accuracy I took it into my doctor’s office and compared the numbers.  The readings were within the -/+2% range of each other.
