ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy Review and One-Year Subscription Giveaway!

 Where to begin...I LOVE ABCmouse.com!

If you have not heard of it, ABCmouse.com is an online early learning academy.  It uses a 6 Step Learning Path (7 if you include Toddler Time) that goes all the way through kindergarten .  I cannot stress how ABCmouse.com has changed our lives.  M is advancing so fast, its unbelievable.  Within just one week she started to read/recognize numbers 1-5!   And as a homeschooling family we definitely appreciate the supplementary support.

For first time users they have a mouse and pointer tutorial, which is really awesome.  They also have a “roll over button effect”, to help the little ones navigate.

Since M is only 3 and had never used a computer before, I helped her navigate the first time around.  But she caught on really quick.   And, although it is not really crucial for me to sit with her during her lessons, since we are using the program amid our homeschooling, I usually do.

ABCmouse.com Program Curriculum include:

Music and songs -Instrument names & sounds, 26 original A to Z alphabet songs, Children’s classics, Counting & number songs

Art and Colors -Primary & secondary colors, Shades of colors, Paint-by-number activities, Number & letter dot-to-dots

World Around Us -the body and health, sports, plants & animals, weather & seasons, Earth, moon, sun & stars

Math -Recognizing & counting numbers 1-100, “More than” & “Less than”, Identifying as well as drawing shapes & simple patterns, the meaning of addition & subtraction

Reading -Uppercase & lowercase letter recognition, phonics, recognizing sounds, rhyming words, word families

Aside from the Lessons (which appear on the white board in the classroom), there are other areas to explore like the interactive FARM and ZOO which are both filled with beautiful animations.  There your child can learn facts about each animal, read books, play games, and do puzzles & art activities.   M's favorite is the interactive zoo.  Sometimes that’s all she wants to do during learning time.

With ABCmouse your child can choose exotic tropical fish and other items to put in the Classroom Aquarium along with learning lots of interesting fish facts at the same time.  This is Ms favorite part of ABCmouse.  She loves cleaning her tank, feeding her fish, and checking up on her hamsters.  Oh yeah, not only do they have a customizable fish tank but they have a customizable hamster cage as well!  M has already created a pretty cool maze of tunnels for her hamsters.  Yes hamsters is plural because she has already “purchased” 2!

They have a ticket rewards system that encourages M to complete learning activities and try new ones.  With every activity she earns tickets and with those tickets she can “purchase” items to customized her bedroom, fish tank, and hamster cage.  Thus, making learning a fun game.  She gets so excited when her tickets come out!

Parent Friendly

They have built in lesson plans as well as a lesson plan builder so you can plan your own and select activities based on your child’s needs and interests. They also have a tab for Progress Tracking, so you can watch as your child progresses.  I have already built a few lessons for our Letter of the Week curriculum but she goes back and forth between that and the Learning Path created for her age.

I love that ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy allows M to have control over her learning.  She chooses the activities she wants to do, making her more eager and willing to learn.  I have to pull her away when her computer time is up.

Oh, and another great thing about this program is that you can register multiple children on one account at no extra cost!  I could go on forever about how amazing ABCmouse.com is, so I will be posting Ms progress every few weeks.

Would I recommend? Absolutely!  At only $7.95/mo or $79/yr, you wont find a better price for such an amazing program.  It is very reasonably priced and well worth the investment.
Now you can see for yourself...try ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy absolutely free for 30 days by clicking here.

We have made ABCmouse.com a part of our learning and now you can too.
