My daughter loves to play chef in her kitchen. Her kitchen is complete with a fridge, sink,
stove, microwave, table settings, and cookware. The one thing her play is lacking is food. So I started surfing the Internet for some
durable play food. Enter learning
resources.

I was super excited to hear that Learning Resources had a blogger program that I qualified for! I contacted them and was sent the New Sprouts® Deluxe Market Set for review.
This play set encourages imaginative play and healthy-eating habits making it fantastic for acting out certain real life situations. It includes 30 different types of freshly designed produce. Their realistic pieces are durable yet flexible so they do not stay caved in when squeezed like most other play food. This set also includes a shopping basket and a bushel basket.
When it arrived I was so excited to open it up and give it to M. She helped me open the box and place the food around the house so we could “go shopping” right away. After shopping, M used her cash register to ring up the food, then cooked it, and served it. It was so much fun! This is such a wonderful set! We can even pretend to go to the farmers market and use our bushel basket. I love that this set includes things needed to build a sandwich and M's favorite fruits and veggies. I also noticed that the pieces are the PERFECT size for little hands!
Yogurt-a healthy choice! |
This past weekend she was able to show off her new food and play "market" with her cousin. My 5yr old nephew pretended to have a shopping list and M asked him if he had any coupons at checkout, it was so cute. It amazes me how much our children grasp with just a few trips to the grocery store. They had a blast and they were so fun to watch.
Today we packed up some of her food and went to my sisters for a play date. They had so much fun!
M and my niece loved this set so much that we plan on ordering the New Sprouts Picnic Food Set for Christmas!

These look a good bit more durable than the ones we had at the time as well.
