M’s behavior has been
nothing shy of embarrassing lately. She
is such a great little girl but her actions have been saying otherwise. As you know we are a non-spanking,
non-swatting, and non-threatening family.
We like to "encourage" reflection time (or timeouts). But as you know timeouts do not always work...so then what?
Well...
I have decided to give
the old behavior chart a try. I let M
pick the theme and the prize she gets after filling the chart. Then together we went over a few things that
she needs to work on:
Listening
Washing Hands
Cleaning Room
Bedtime
She seems really excited. I will keep you posted on her progress.
Making her feel like she is an active participant in her own behavioral change should work pretty well according to the world of psychology. :)
