In our house we feel that pretend play is an important part of childhood.  It builds social and emotional skills, language skills, thinking skills, and nurtures the imagination.  So I jumped at the chance to review Power Capes’ SOAR Superheroes Club.  

Power Capes allows you to create a personalized superhero cape; choosing a size, color, emblem shape & color and giving you the option to add an initial.  There are 11 cape colors, 8 emblem designs, and 29 emblem colors to choose from! They offer 3 sizes: Sidekick for ages 2-7, Hero for ages 6-10 and Adult.  You can even complete your outfit by purchasing superhero T-shirts, masks, and blaster cuffs for your arms!

M chose a pink cape with a sparkly purple flower emblem; it was super silky and very soft.  It fits M just right and she still has room to grow.  M loves playing dress up.  I have since washed it in cold on gentle and it did fade or fall apart.  I do not recommend throwing it in the drawer.

Each Power Cape is hand-stitched and made in the USA. They cut, trim and sew every piece of fabric themselves. The stitching is very thorough, and after a week of frequent use, I have not had any problems with the integrity of the cape; its ultra durable!
